Kings Youth Volleyball...Teamwork Makes our Dream Work

COVID-19 Policy and Procedures, Kings Youth Volleyball
Update January 14, 2021

Goal: to prevent the transmission of the COVID illness amongst the players, coaches, and families of our youth volleyball organization via adherence to a set of protocols

Those protocols include:

  1. Illness:  all players and coaches will be expected to take their temperatures at home before all team activities.  Any player or coach with a temperature exceeding 100.4 degrees prior to practices or games will not be allowed to participate.  Any player with a household member diagnosed COVID+ will not be permitted to play

  2. If a player or coach is diagnosed COVID+, by CDC definition of contact, any other players or coaches that have spent more than 15 total minutes within six feet of this player coach will be expected to abstain from team activities as per the most up-to-date guidelines by the CDC.

  3. Social Distancing:  We recognize that this is a sport where players cannot stay separated by 6+ feet at all times.  However, we can still institute some protocols to keep individuals separated as much as possible

  4. Practices:  Drills should be run such that kids do not have any physical contact with adjacent kids, and that lines to perform drills are condensed into small areas.  Practices will be scheduled for one team on a court at a time.  We will ask one parent in addition to the coach to be in charge of physically distancing the kids.

  5. Games:  There is a chance that more than one family member will not be permitted to be a spectator unless that family member is also a coach.

  6. Thankfully, per CDC it is unlikely for Coronavirus to be spread via contaminated surfaces.  Outside of the ball, there are really very few surfaces that come into contact with participants..  If coaches/children are on a bench, it will be wiped down at regular intervals.  The balls will be wiped down at the conclusion of each practice.  At games, the ball will be cleaned per the guidelines expressed by the league.

  7. Before commencing any kind of practice activity, all players and all coaches will have mandatory hand cleanings intervals prior to practice and during water breaks.  Players will be asked to bring their own sanitizer

  8.  Masks:  Players will NOT be expected to wear masks, however if they want to do so they certainly will be allowed.  Coaches and parent spectators will be required to wear a mask while inside Kings Facilities.  This includes drop-offs and pick ups.

  9. Waiver:  All parents will electronically sign a waiver on behalf of their child upon time of Registration with KYVB explaining the inherent dangers associated with this particular infectious disease and releasing the Kings School district and KYVB from liabilities associated with suspected transmission.

  10. Please understand that these guidelines are for the safety of all of our players, their families and our communities.   Thank you for your understanding.
