ABOUT_
Parents and Players

As of July 1, we were given the go-ahead by our local school district to start registering players for our upcoming fall volleyball season. Certainly, this will be a season unlike any others. While we are relieved that it looks like we can start preparations for a season, there are many uncertainties as well. Here’s what we know:

Preliminary safety protocols may be found on the link on our website.

Registration will open up on July 6. For now, we will not be collecting payment, but count on fees probably be in the neighborhood again of around $140, and will be due at assessments. Fifth and sixth-grade girls will (mostly) be registered by individual grade this season. Third and fourth graders will still be a combined registration, as will Junior High aged girls.

THANK YOU to all those families who deferred your funds from the spring to the fall or made a donation to our program after the spring cancellation. Because of you, our organization is still viable. Your child will have priority at fall signups and will be guaranteed a spot on a roster. However, please sign them up early to avoid any confusion.

Boys: We are planning to put together a team of fifth and sixth-grade boys. However, we simply aren't sure yet whether CPYVBL will still give this division the same attention it had prior to COVID. Regardless, we will try to find some way to get these boys exposure to the sport and practice time. If an all-boys team is not available, we can still place two boys on each girls' team--if they are brave enough!

Practices will be held (mostly) amongst our local school gymnasiums. There will still be some form of preseason assessment also. The date of this is still TBD.

We need HELP. Things are going to have to come together extremely quickly, and there are several new challenges we will need to face. We need volunteers for board positions, coaching positions, social distancing monitors, gym monitors, and we need them EARLY in the signup process. Please consider offering your time, there will be no volleyball without volunteers.

You may have noticed over the past few months that things develop and change on a dime. We will keep this group informed via this page, via emails, and via website updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding. KYVB
